MY FIRST DAY IN MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF METRO
BY FAHRI NDABLEK
Do you remember your first day in the university? Well, at this moment I would like to tell you about my first day in my university. I was nervous because I didn’t know what is the first step to be a good student, I was having friends or maybe I would be alone at that time. But, thanks God I met many good friends, they are Nofan, Nanda, Ari, Miga, Yudi, etc. They are so friendly and nice person. We were related each other. Anyway having an English subject on my first day, it was so nervous that I felt at that time, I couldn’t breathe normally, so much shocked. Introduced my self to other in front of class and other students couldn’t say any word. I didn’t know where i was going to start, I was standing in front of my class mates and lecturers assistants, but I spoke out and realized how important to learn English seriously. I need more motivation to do it. And for me, the most important thing is, I enjoyed all of my time in university.
GORILLAS
BY FAHRI NDABLEK
Gorrilas
are the largest of all the primates, the animal order including lemurs,
tarsiers, monkey, and apes. They are the anthropoid apes which have the greater
in size. Gorrilas are terrestrial animals, inhabiting the lands, not the water.
Many of them live in forests of central West Africa.
A
male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and can weight 200 kilograms.
Physically gorillas are very powerful, but they do not often fight. In fact
they are peaceful animals. Gorillas live in small family groups of about 15
gorillas in a group, there is one strong, older male, some young males, and a
few females with their babies. Like some other kinds of apes, they are
vegetarians. They move slowly around a large area of jungle eating leaves ans
bushes.
In some ways gorillas
are like humans. However, according to some careful research, they are not
theancestors of human beings. Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas.
People also cut down and burn their trees where they live. There are now only
about 10.000 gorillas left in the world.
I would like to
describe all animal in the picture.
There are many kind of animal in the picture. They are
three snakes, three crocodiles, two elephants, two monkeys, and two birds. First,
The biggest snake is looking for some food and
two little snakes are playing near the river, all of them have many
black spot on their body. they are using their stomach muscle to move. Many
kind of snake population’s is on the brushwood and near the river. second,
there are two crocodiles swimming in the river, one of them open it’s mouth,
and another crocodile just drying it’s body on the other side of river. All of
them have sharp teeth and they are looks so hungry. Crocodile population is on
the river, some time they are drying their body on the ground to make it’s body
warm. Third, there are two big elephants standing under the tree, They have big
body, little tail, small eyes, big ears and very long nose. They are smiling
and looks so happy. Their population is on the meadow. The last, there are two
monkeys and two birds on the tree, they are sitting on the different tree. One monkey
which raise its left hand sitting together on the big tree with a big bird beside
it. And on another tree there is a little monkey looking at the little bird
beside it. Monkey’s population is on the tree, there they looking for some
food. They have different characteristic and habit but they are happy live in
the deep of jungle.
Cause And Effect Of Floods.

A flood is a
very large number or amount of water that rises and spreads. A stream, river,
or lake floods when water overflows beyond its banks. Flooding waters cover
land that is usually dry. Floods have been a part of life at all ends of the
earth, they occur in forests, mountains, and even deserts. They can even happen
any time of the year, not just in winter. This essay will investigate the
causes and effects of the floods. A flood that rises and falls rapidly with
little or no advance warning is called a flash flood. They are usually the
result from intense rainfall over a relatively small area. Streams and rivers
periodically flood and the adjacent dry lands that are covered are called flood
plains. As for me, there are some causes of floods.
First, heavy
rains and fast melting snow masses. Coastal areas are occasionally flooded by
unusually high tides caused by severe winds over the ocean surfaces, or by
tsunamis resulting from undersea earthquakes. Coastal flooding can also be
caused by intense rain squalls that accompany a hurricane. Second, the cause of
flooding is when a lot of rain falls in a few days. The ground becomes so wet
that no more rain can trickle through the earth. This rain runs into the rivers
and the water level quickly becomes much higher. The river cannot cope with
this extra water and the water breaks over the river banks. The third cause of
flooding are hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons. They can cause floods. These
are very strong winds which form over the seas and blow towards coastlines. The
winds make the waves in the sea much higher. The waves then crash onto the
beach and flood the flat land by the coast. Forth, Earthquakes also make
possible flooding by shaking the earth causing tsunamis. The tsunamis are big
waves that travel towards the shore and flood the flat coastal land. Unusually
high tides in spring can influence floods by an estuary. High waves, caused by
the high tide, rush up the river estuary. There is too much water in the river
so the surrounding land is flooded when the river banks burst.
Finally dam failure can be the producer of a
flood. If engineers do not open enough of the dam holes in times of heavy
rainfall, the water can then spill over the top of the dam. Those are the
causes and the effect of flood. The effects of a flood can be seen everywhere
afterwards. There can be broken roads and railway lines, wrecked houses,
electricity and gas supplies can be cut off, trees fall over, and bridges can
even break. There are also a few other effects from floods, diseases, people
and animals killed, crushed crops, smashed cars, and electrical items like
computers and TV's can be ruined.
